I had a little fun creating this advert for a class of mine. The ad was created to complement the Rider Lifestyle, which is earthy creative and fun. I used a green colour palette and added pops of red to accentuate the red bow headband. The greenery resembles British Columbia's magical forestry to further allude to the company's brand image, which is very Canadian. So go ahead, embrace nature by ordering your own organic knits. xox KC

Always been fascinated by the Chinese Government and their ability to censor information from the Chinese nation. Whatever your opinion is of this, as art, this information is quite beautiful, so if you are up to nothing or you are craving something cool, check out informationisbeautiful.net-- where ideas, issues, and concepts are visualized. Beautiful and simple. LOVE.

Just purchased this fantastic green dress by Canadian designer, Valerie Dumaine. Valerie's lines are entirely made in Canada, which I fully support and the quality is impeccable. Get yours online or at Frock in Toronto.

BIO: Valerie Dumaine has been active in the Montreal fashion scene for over eleven years.  Between 1997 and 2002, she has been an illustrator, patternmaker and designer for various local companies. A year after graduating from Lasalle College, she departed Montreal briefly in 1998 for London, where she completed an internship with designer Gaile McConaghie. Upon completion of her Certificate in German at UQAM in 2002, Valerie Dumaine was once again Europe-bound; this time, her focus was Berlin.  She reveled in the German fashion scene and culture, acquiring a firm and definitive direction.  This experience would become a major turning point in her career. After returning to Montreal, she decided to work on her own line and in Spring 2004 Valerie Dumaine was finally born!
Valerie Dumaine's line projects an image of confidence, with clean and elegant lines, embellished by a careful finished touch.  Inspired by the past, the designer is a master when it comes to mix and match styles, creating refined and bold garments.
Her Collections are entirely made in Canada and are now available in more than 50 stores across Canada, US and Lebanon. http://www.valeriedumaine.com
Alexander McQueen, English fashion designer passed away on February 11, 2010. After making a start working for Givenchy, McQueen stepped out on his own and created his own label. McQueen is known for his dramatic design worn by many including Nicole Kidman, Lady Gaga, and Rhianna. Though he no longer lives, his fashion will live on and continue to grace the runways with bold style. LONG LIVE MCQUEEN.

Newest design. A take off my grey bow headband. Beautiful and unique. Captures the free-spirit in everyone and adds a bit of high-fashion to keep up with the hottest trends--bows. I had fun designing it and the photo shoot was also a blast. Beauty lies within, and maybe with a little help from adorable headbands. xox KC

My newest design. Inspired by the big bow trend that is hot right now. This is a new look for RK because it is a sewn piece, not knit. Regardless its got the quality of all my other designs, also it's hand-made in Canada. LOVE. Get yours today at http://www.rkorganics.com
So, I am very excited to announce the release of a few new designs. We have the Red Bow headband and the classic Black Bow Headband. Peace love and sunshine- KC
Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, my fashion icon and world-renown fashion designer created the new scent that women everywhere would go crazy for. She was known for her revolutionary fashion that changed the way women dressed. She also changed the way women wore their scent. Her perfume would allow women's natural scent to peak through without dousing themselves in copious amounts of floral scents. The thing I find fascinating and inspiring about Chanel is her ability to brand the No.5 into, what was at the time, the most expensive perfume in the world. No.5 is a simple name, yet the way it was packaged and the high-quality contents of the fragrance, particularly the jasmine extract, gave it the luxurious appeal. Before the product came out on the market, Chanel spread the word by spraying it around the room during parties so her dinner guests would experience it for themselves. She told them all that it was not for sale. As soon as she released the product, she only sold it to a few privileged clientele to raise the product's exclusivity and glamour. No.5 is a strong example of how a product, when coupled with great marketing and design, can become a worldwide phenomenon... forever. LOVE.

As the famous wartime slogan goes, Keep Calm and Carry On. I like this slogan because sometimes things seem too difficult and complicated to handle. It was a reminder to society to remain calm and everything will be okay. It's still a relevant reminder today- persevere and keep on moving on. The second slogan below is a modern play on things. I like it. So much focus today is placed on what we do or who we know or what we have- jobs, cars, houses, friends- life gets lost in the process. Why not get a little excited every now and then- go out and make things, but if they don't work out carry on anyway. What's the harm in trying?

I love photography. Beautiful photographs capture memorable moments.

Wonderful things happen when you least expect them to.
I truly believe that if you are content with yourself and with your life, you'll be able to let go of all you are trying so desperately to hold on to. Go ahead, let go of what may be holding you back from something, whether it be a new relationship or job opportunity. Embrace change. Jump in with both feet and you will find what you were looking for all along, something great, something easy, something right. It just takes a little faith..

The Beginning

Bohemian Reveries will be all my own thoughts on the world around me.
I will be completely open with myself and present an honest opinion for those who stumble across the blog. Basically I love my life, I love the air I breathe, and the one who created me. From fashion to snowboarding, crocheting to surfing, I will express myself through the words I write. I'm excited to begin expressing myself online, I look forward to it and I hope you all, whoever you are, will enjoy it too!

Peace, love & sunshine.
